Women's Basketball Earns First Win of Year Over Montreat, 64-58

The Bulldogs (1-4) earned their first win of the season but had to hold off a late Cavalier (2-5) comeback to get the victory.
Whitney Mace led Montreat with 18 points. Janel Cox finished with 11 points and six assists. Alicia Wallace had 10 points for the visitors.
UNC Asheville got a great game from Jessica Monroe with a double-double as she scored 14 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Linda Aughburns had eight points, four steals and five rebounds. Okoli was 8-of-16 from the field and 3-of-5 from the three-point line.
