UNC Asheville Places 64 Student-Athletes on Big South Honor Roll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville placed 64 student-athletes on the Big South Presidential Honor Roll for the 2006-07 academic year. The announcement was made by the Big South Conference on Thursday. To be named to the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.0 GPA or above for the entire academic year.

"Our student-athletes did a wonderful job this year succeeding both in the classroom and on the field," stated UNC Asheville Athletics Director Janet Cone. The Bulldogs claimed two Big South Conference championships this past year and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in both women's soccer and women's basketball."

The Big South champion women's soccer team led the way with 15 of its student-athletes making the Honor Roll. Women's tennis had all seven of its student-athletes on their roster earn a spot on the Honor Roll. The baseball team placed 10 players on the Honor Roll.
