Michael Ellis Named Big South Rookie of the Week - UNC Asheville Bulldogs Official Athletics Site

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville forward Michael Ellis (Statesville, N.C.) was named Big South Conference New Balance Freshman of the Week on Monday by the League office.

Ellis earns his second Freshman honor in three weeks, as he tallied 19.5 points in two games. He scored a career-high 29 points on 9-of-11 shooting ( =.818) and 9-of-10 free throws at League-leading Birmingham-Southern, while adding seven rebounds and two assists. In the Bulldogs' 64-57 win over Radford, Ellis scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds, finishing the week with 6.0 rebounds, .545 from the field (12-of-22), .500 from beyond the arc (3-of-6) and .750 from the line (12-of-16).
