Mike Moses, Jr. joined UNC Asheville Women's Basketball's coaching staff in June 2025.
Moses joins Lewis’s staff after being on staff for one season at Division II Winston-Salem State.
Prior to his time at Winston-Salem State, he spent two seasons as the recruiting coordinator at North Carolina A&T. During his time at North Carolina A&T, Mike Moses was instrumental in the development of the Aggies’ backcourt, serving as the lead coach for the guards. Under his guidance, two standout players—Jordyn Dorsey and Malia Bracone—earned All-Conference honors in 2024, a testament to his ability to elevate guard play through skill development, game preparation, and leadership mentoring.
Moses played a key role in the Aggies’ historic 2024 postseason run, helping the team advance to the Sweet 16 of the WNIT. His impact was felt both on the court and in the film room, where his attention to detail and in-game adjustments helped push the program to new heights.
Off the court, Moses was heavily involved in recruiting, helping to build one of the most promising 2024 recruiting classes in the conference. His relationships, eye for talent, and commitment to the program’s vision made him an invaluable part of the Aggies’ staff.
Prior to N.C. A&T, he was the assistant coach and director of recruiting at Western Kentucky University, organizing all the Troppers campus visits for prospects.
Moses was considered one of the best high school coaches in North Carolina at St. Paul’s High School in St. Paul’s, N.C. The Bulldogs went 97-24 under Moses in five seasons, including a 67-3 mark and three conference championships over his final three seasons with the program.
He is the Three-time Robeson County coach of the year (2018, 2019, 2020), and in 2020, and 2021 he was named the Three Rivers Conference Class 2A coach of the year. Moses also brings collegiate experience to Aggieland after serving as an assistant coach with the Fayetteville State men's basketball program (2009-15). He also played collegiately for the Broncos and earned a degree in education from the university in 2010.
Moses also coached the AAU team Carolina Flames in the Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL), considered AAU's top league. Moses led the Flames to the Nike national championships final four.
Moses' father played college basketball at Florida and St. John's, leading the Red Storm to the Final Four in 1984-85. He was an assistant coach in men's basketball at Maine, Xavier, Delaware and Rutgers.
