2015 (Freshman): Saw action in 20 matches as a true freshman, including playing in 34 sets … Made her first collegiate start against Alabama A&M (9/12) … In that match, she recorded three kills and two digs in two sets played … Ended the season with 33 kills, 28 digs, five total blocks, three service aces and two assists.

Before UNC Asheville: Borschel earned three varsity letters while playing at Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Ill. … A 2014 all-conference selection, she also earned All-Tournament honors at the Plainfield North Tournament … She played her club ball for 1st Alliance Volleyball Club and head coach Susan Keck … Away from the court, she was a member of the National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society as well as an AP Scholar … She earned the Prairie State Achievement Award and was an Illinois State Scholar while graduating in the top-10% of her class.
