2025-26 Season (Redshirt Freshman) - Daniel Thomas emerged as a key frontcourt presence for Asheville in his first season with the program...The redshirt freshman transfer quickly established himself as a physical, dependable force in the paint, bringing toughness, rebounding, and defensive stability to the lineup...The 6-8 forward worked his way into 19 starts and started all but three conference contests, embracing the responsibility of anchoring the interior...In league play, Thomas averaged 3.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while recording 10 blocks...He posted one double-double and reached double-digit rebounds three times...Thomas earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors once this season and earned Big South All-Freshman Team honors.

The 6-8 forward from Dallas, Texas, redshirted last season at New Mexico and comes to Asheville with four years of eligibility.
Prior to College
Thomas was a three-star recruit out of high school and was a 2024 McDonald's All-America nominee. He earned all-state honors at Dallas Carter High School and helped the team to a 31-6 record and a top 25 ranking in Texas. He was the District 13-4A Defensive Player of the Year and played for Lone Star Elite AAU.
