2023 Season (Junior) - Castonguay played in and started 42 games in his first season with the Bulldogs in 2023...Splitting his time between catcher and designated hitter, Castonguay hit .257 with two home runs and 25 RBI...Posted nine multi-hit outings on the season...Had a five-game hitting streak in mid-March...Launched home runs vs. Longwood and High Point...Collected a season-high four hits and drove in three runs in Asheville's win over Radford in mid-May.
Prior to UNC Asheville - Spent the previous two seasons as a member of the Kansas University baseball team...Collected five hits during his time as a Jayhawk, including three for extra-bases...Was a 2021 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team selection...As a high school player, Castonguay was named Perfect Game's No. 1 catcher in the state of Colorado...He played in the Area Code Games for the Reds Scout Team...Finished his junior campaign with a .350 batting average and 26 stolen bases...Was a First-Team All-League selection...Helped his team win a district championship in 2019...His high school team finished third in the Colorado High School Athletic Association State Tournament.
