Overview: First men’s basketball player from Sweden to ever play for the Bulldogs...versatile player who can play in the frontcourt and backcourt...played at prep power St. Anthony’s HS in Newark, N.J. for legendary coach Bob Hurley his junior and senior year...excellent student was ranked #1 in his class senior year...needed to step up as a junior and played very well for the Bulldogs...excellent three-point shooter who improved his game even more in 2008-09 to be more of a complete player...should compete for all-conference honors as a senior...moved into sixth place on the school’s all-time career list for three-pointers made with 132 and should complete his career in second place.
2008-2009: Started 26 times and was the Bulldogs’ fourth leading scorer with a 10.8 average...shot 45.7 percent (74-of-162) from the three-point line...scored in double figures 16 times...tied a single-game school record held by two other players with eight treys at Liberty (1-31) en route to scoring a career-high 28 points...went 8-of-12 from beyond the arc that night and 10-of-16 from the field...followed up with 22 points and 11 rebounds in upset win at VMI (2-2) as he went 7-of-7 from the free throw line...scored 17 points and went 5-of-6 from three-point line in early-season home win over Liberty (11-18)...posted 21 points, going 4-of-6 from three-point range and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe in Big South Tournament game at Radford (3-5)...had his second double-double of the year at Presbyterian (2-28) with 17 points and 10 rebounds...played his best basketball in the last half of the season as he scored in double figures in nine of his last 11 games...scored 19 points in road victory at High Point (2-18)...excellent free throw shooter as he shot 82 percent on the year (46-of-56)...dished out 60 assists on the year and collected 4.1 rebounds per game...did not score against Catawba (12-13) but collected eight rebounds and handed out a career-best seven assists.
2007-2008: Played in all 33 games and started four times early in the year...third on team in three-pointers made with 40...was a bright spot in home loss to VMI (2-16) with career-high 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field...tallied 17 points in overtime win at VMI (1-19) as he went 5-of-9 from beyond the arc...scored 11 points in home loss to East Tennessee State (11-24) and road defeat at Liberty (2-9)...hit three important three-pointers in early-season road win at Western Carolina (11-20)...pumped in seven points and collected six rebounds in victory at Campbell (11-17)...knocked down three treys in the second half during key home win over Winthrop (2-2)...grabbed seven rebounds in games vs. Montreat (12-31) and Liberty (2-9)...had 56 field goals on the season with 40 being from beyond the arc...dished out three assists in four different games, including opening night win over Furman (11-9)...scored eight points and knocked down two crucial 3-pointers in road win at South Carolina (1-5).
2006-2007: Played in 26 games and started five times...shot a solid 40 percent (18-of-45) from the three-point line...scored 14 points in two games as he tallied 14 in near upset of Duquesne...went 5-of-7 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point line against the Dukes...also scored 14 in close home loss to Coastal Carolina and went 6-of-9 from the field...grabbed six rebounds against Montreat and VMI...scored career-high 16 points in close home loss to VMI and went 5-of-7 from field, 3-of-4 from three-point line and 3-of-4 from free throw line...pumped in eight points at High Point...handed out four assists at Duquesne.
Before UNC Asheville: Two-year starter at St. Anthony’s where he helped guide team to 21-6 junior year and 26-3 mark senior season...averaged eight points, six rebounds and five assists per game as a senior...led team in three-point and free throw shooting junior and senior season...guided team to semifinals of New Jersey state championship...played in the New Jersey-Connecticut All-Star game in the spring of 2006.
