Manuela Schreier Named Big South Conference Offensive Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville junior midfielder Manuela Schreier has been named the Big South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Monday, Aug. 17).

Schreier helped Asheville to a pair of thrilling draws in the opening week with two goals for four points. She scored the first goal of the season in the 2-2 draw with Wofford on Wednesday (Aug. 12), where Asheville would the game-tying goal in the 87th minute. Schreier then scored the game-tying goal in Saturday's (Aug. 15) 3-3 draw with North Alabama with just three seconds left on the clock.

This is Schreier's first career Player of the Week honor. The Rotenburg, Germany native is a business major.

The Bulldogs (0-0-2) return to action on Wednesday (Aug. 19) hosting Southern Wesleyan in non-conference action for the 2026 Welcome Back Game. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. from Greenwood Field, with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
