Lili Adams, London Phoenix Earn Big South Conference Weekly Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer senior midfielder Lili Adams and goalkeeper London Phoenix earned weekly awards from the Big South Conference this week, announced by the league today (Monday, Oct. 5). Adams was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week while Phoenix was named Freshman of the Week.
 
Asheville is on a six-match winning streak having earned three straight clean sheets, with a 7-0 win at Radford last Wednesday (Sept. 30) and a 4-0 win at Gardner-Webb on Saturday (Oct. 3). The Bulldogs are also 4-0-0 in conference play for the first time in program history. Asheville's win over Radford was the program's first since 2015.  
 
Adams tallied a brace with two goals in the win over Radford, while also tallying a goal and an assist in the win over Gardner-Webb. She scored the winner in both matches and totaled three goals and an assist for seven points on the week.
 
This is Adams's second career Offensive Player of the Week honor. The Frisco, Texas native is a health science major.
 
Phoenix picked up a pair of shutout wins making nine total saves in the two contests, for her third and fourth shutouts of the season respectively.
 
This is Phoenix's second straight and third overall Freshman of the Week honor. The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
 
The Bulldogs (7-3-3, 4-0-0 Big South) return to action next Saturday (Oct. 10) hosting Longwood for Alumni Day and the team's annual Pink Out. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. from Greenwood Field, with live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
