Caroline Patterson to Compete in the Chapel Hill Regional Site

INDIANAPOLIS, Ill. – The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the regionals of the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships and UNC Asheville's Caroline Patterson has been selected to compete in the Chapel Hill Regional Site. The announcement was made by the NCAA on Wednesday (April 29). 

Regional play will take place May 11-13 at six regional sites, with 396 participants and each site featuring 12 teams and six individuals. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team (six individuals total) from each regional site will advance to compete in the national championships to be played May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. 

The Chapel Hill Regional will be played at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and will be hosted by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Patterson is the first individual in program history to advance to the regionals of the NCAA Championships and win stroke play at the Big South Championships. Patterson's championship run included rounds of 79–67–69 (-1), as she rebounded from a tie for 26th after round one to claim the title. Her second-round 67 (-5) marked one of the best rounds of the tournament and vaulted her into contention before she sealed the win with a 3-under 69 in the third-round.
