Baseball Drops Saturday Contest at Longwood

FARMVILLE, Va. - UNC Asheville Baseball dropped its Big South Conference contest at Longwood on Saturday (Apr. 11) by a score of 9-2.

After a scoreless first inning, Longwood built a 3-0 lead early with one run each in the second, third and fourth innings. Asheville would answer with one run in the top of the fifth when Coleman McGinnis scored on a groundout by Logan Lowe, before Longwood, responded with two runs in the home half of the fifth. The Lancers pulled away in the game with one run in the sixth and three in the seventh, before Asheville brought the game to its final score with one in the ninth when Ben Green scored on a Tyler Parks double.

Lowe, Jake Minarik, Eric Krumpe, Green and Parks each had one hit in the game. Lowe and Parks each drove in one run, while Green and McGinnis each scored one run in the game.
