Jamaria Freeman Earns Third Big South Conference Freshman of the Week Honor of the Season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville guard Jamaria Freeman has earned her third Big South Conference Freshman of the Week honor of the season, announced by the league today (Monday, Feb. 23).

Asheville went 1-1 last week with a 60-55 loss to High Point on Wednesday (Feb. 18) before beating Presbyterian 76-58 on Saturday (Feb. 21).Â

Freeman scored 15 points with four rebounds and five assists against High Point. She also added 17 points with a career-best 10-14 from the foul line with three rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks.Â

This is Freeman's third career Freshman of the Week honor. The Wilson, N.C. native is a criminal justice major.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday (Feb. 25) to wrap up the regular season at Winthrop. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. from Kimmel Arena with video, live stats and tickets available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
