ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis has announced its 2026 Spring schedule for the program's first season under head coach Dustin Hale, unveiling the schedule today (Friday, Jan. 9).
The season opens Jan. 31 with matches against Young Harris and Lenoir-Rhyne, before the Bulldogs host King (Tenn.) the next day. The Bulldogs head to Elon on Feb. 6, before taking on nationally-ranked North Carolina on the road on Feb. 11. The Bulldogs return home to face Mars Hill the next day on Feb. 12, before traveling to Wofford on Feb. 22. Asheville then plays host to a three-match homestand welcoming ETSU on Feb. 25, Kennesaw State on Feb. 27 and North Carolina Central on Feb. 28. The Bulldogs open the month of March at the USTA National Training Complex in Orlando for Spring Break, playing St. Thomas (Fla.) on Mar. 9, Fairfield on Mar. 10 and Marquette on Mar. 12. The Bulldogs return north on Mar. 20 to travel to Queens (N.C.), before hosting Longwood the next day to open Big South Conference play. The Bulldogs then hit the road for Virginia for the next few days traveling to Norfolk State (Mar. 25), Hampton (Mar. 26) and James Madison (Mar. 28). Asheville then returns home to host Gardner-Webb on Apr. 3 and Jacksonville State on Apr. 4, before the regular season concludes with matches at home against UNC Greensboro (Apr. 7) and at Presbyterian (Apr. 11).
The Big South Conference Championships take place Apr. 16-18 in Lexington, S.C.
"We are all very excited to get this season underway," said Hale. "We have a great group of guys that are all motivated to be the best we can be. We had a great Fall season and had a couple new faces in the Fall that made a lot of noise for us and hope to continue to improve on that. We also have two new highly-rated freshmen coming this Spring that will make immediate impacts in our lineup and we are hoping to make a real push in the Big South."
Home matches for the Bulldogs will be played at Asheville School.
