Women's Tennis Opens 2026 Against App State and Davidson This Weekend

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Women's Tennis opens its 2026 season against Appalachian State and Davidson this weekend (Jan. 30-31) in Boone, N.C. this weekend.

About the Bulldogs - The Bulldogs were picked fourth in the Big South Conference Preseason Coaches' poll. Asheville returns First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Conference Doubles selection Angelina Joy Hug, along with Valeria Centeno and Avery Sager. The Bulldogs also add transfer Audrey Gregg, Isabella Moss, Sofia Segui and Maria sol Alvarez Brandon to the mix.
About Appalachian State - App State comes into the weekend at 0-2 in dual matches on the season, after a 5-2 loss at Virginia Tech last Friday (Jan. 23). Savannah Dada-Mascoll and Allegra Hodson each have one win in singles play on the season for the Mountaineers.
About Davidson - Davidson comes into the matchup at 1-0 on the season after a 7-0 sweep of Queens (N.C.) back on Friday (Jan. 23). Six different Wildcats have wins in singles play so far on the season, while three different doubles pairs each have a win on the year.
