SPARTANBURG, S.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer earned its first clean sheet of the 2025 season with a 1-0 win at Wofford Sunday night (Aug. 17). This marks the first win for the Bulldogs in Spartanburg since a 2-1 victory back on Aug. 24, 2016. This also marks the first time since Aug. 31, 2023 that Asheville has beaten Wofford via shutout.

The teams played a back-and-forth first half, ultimately heading to the break scoreless. Asheville totaled three shots to Wofford's four, also earning the only corner kick in the opening frame.

The teams traded possession throughout the first 15 minutes of the second half, before Asheville started to up the pressure offensively. Lili Adams was finally able to stash home her first goal as a Bulldog and the first goal of her college career on a shot to the lower right corner in the 66th minute to give Asheville the lead for good. The Bulldogs were able to limit Wofford's chances late in the second half to secure the victory.

Asheville totaled nine shots in the match with three on goal, paced by a career-high three from Adams. Jordan Schaetzly had two shots off the bench, while Lilly Graumann, Manuela Schreier, Kendall Powell and Abby Foulk each had one shot in the match. Asheville also earned three corner kicks to Wofford's four in the contest. Gracie Murray (1-1-0) stopped six shots between the pipes for her first shutout of the season and the seventh clean sheet of her Bulldog career.

The Bulldogs (1-1-0) return to action next Sunday (Aug. 24) at Jacksonville State in non-conference action. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. from Jacksonville, Ala. with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
