Men's Tennis Welcomes Presbyterian on Thursday for Senior Day

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis welcomes Presbyterian on Thursday (Apr. 2) for Senior Day. Seniors Tarek Erlewein and Olle Sonesson Lidholt will be honored prior to the start of warmups at 12:50 p.m.

About Asheville - The Bulldogs come into the week at 9-7 overall and 0-1 in the Big South Conference after a 5-2 loss at Gardner-Webb on Thursday (Mar. 27). Asheville holds a 46-44 combined singles record as well as a combined 19-19 doubles record. Freddy Murray leads the Bulldogs with 11 wins in singles play, while Erlewein has eight wins and Cian ingles and Lidholt each have six. Sai Gandepalli and Trevor Gray each have five wins, while Griffin Lovern and Luke Ruecker each have two wins and Alex English has one. Lovern and Erlewein lead the team with four doubles wins, while four other doubles pairs each have three wins. Two other doubles tandems each have one win.   
 
About Presbyterian - Presbyterian enters the week at 5-11 overall and 0-2 in the Big South Conference after a 4-3 loss at Longwood on Friday (Mar. 28). The Blue Hose have a combined 31-57 singles record as well as a combined 18-19 doubles record. David Mamalat and Daksh Prasad each have six wins in singles play, while Evgenios Vasilakis has five wins. Eduardo Valentin and Pedro Cardoso each have four wins in singles play, while Marco Foglieni and Denim Yadav each have three wins. Prasad/Cardoso have seven wins in doubles play, while Mamalat/Vasilakis and Yadav/Valentine each have four wins. Valentin/Foglieni have two wins, while Yadav and Foglieni also have one win in doubles play.   
 
Series History - This will be the 22nd all-time meeting between Asheville and Presbyterian, with Presbyterian leading the all-time series 13-8. Asheville has won the last two meetings in the series, including last year's Big South Conference Championship semifinal which was a 4-2 win on Apr. 20, 2024.
