Bulldogs Sit in First After Day One of Big South Championship

Fripp Island, S.C. - The UNC Asheville women's golf team finished at the top of the leaderboard on Sunday (April 13), following the first 18 holes of the 2025 Big South Conference Women's Golf Championship.
The Bulldogs shot a 303 (+15) in the opening round of play. High Point closely follows in second at +16, and Charleston Southern is third at +19. The nine Big South competitors are within 20 strokes of each other.

PLAYER SUMMARY
Caroline Patterson finished the first round with sole ownership of second place. She had three birdies for a final score of 73 (+1). Beryl Giletti is in a tie for fourth place, shooting a 75 (+3) across her first 18 holes. After the first 18 holes, Giletti leads the field at 2-under on par 5s.
Morgan Guepet is in a tie for 15th with a 77 (+5), Ally Kerr followed, as she shot a 78 (+6) and is tied in 18th, and Claudia Salvador finished the day with a 79 (+7), and is tied for 22nd.
A LOOK AT TOMORROW
The Bulldogs return for day two of the Big South Conference Championship tomorrow (April 14), with Salvador leading the Bulldogs off at 9:48 a.m. and Patterson finishing the team off at 10:24 a.m. The Bulldogs will play with High Point and Charleston Southern.
