Elizabeth Tindera Named Big South Conference Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis redshirt sophomore Elizabeth Tindera has been named the Big South Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Mar. 12).

Tindera helped Asheville go 2-0 last week, with a 6-1 win over Queens (N.C.) on Saturday (Mar. 8) and a 4-2 win at UNC Wilmington on Sunday (Mar. 9). Against Queens, Tindera and Valeria Centeno accepted a forfeit at No. 3 doubles before Tinder beat Jett Coetzee 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Against UNCW, Tindera earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles over Lucia Gomez.

This is Tindera's second career Player of the Week honor and her sixth career weekly honor. The Fort Wayne, Ind. Native is a political science major.

The Bulldogs (8-4) open Big South Conference play next Saturday (Mar. 22) at Longwood. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. from Farmville, Va.
