WILMINGTON, N.C. - UNC Asheville Baseball dropped its series finale at UNC Wilmington on Sunday (Feb. 23) by a score of 7-1.

UNCW scored one run the third, two in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth before Asheville scored their run in the ninth when Corbin Lanowitz scored on a RBI single from Patrick Gillen.

Rylen Stockton, Owen Michelson, Gillen and Brock Mercado each recorded hits in the game for Asheville, while Gillen drove in the lone run and Lanowitz scored the lone run. Daylinh Nguyen-Brown got the start for the Bulldogs, allowing five runs, three earned on five hits in four innings along with three strikeouts. Nic Melton came on in relief for 1.2 innings allowing two runs, one earned on three hits with one walk and two strikeouts. Branden Barna fired 1.1 innings of hitless ball with two walks and one strikeout, while Matthew Hall fired one clean inning of relief.
