Bulldogs Fall to UAB in Final Non-Conference Contest

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UNC Asheville men's basketball team closed its non-conference schedule on Sunday afternoon, falling 72–47 to UAB.
Despite Asheville jumping out to an early four-point lead following a steal and basket by Toyaz Solomon, the Bulldogs were unable to build on the advantage. UAB responded with a 16–0 run and took control of the game, carrying a 42–26 lead into halftime. Asheville battled in the second half, but the Blazers maintained control to secure the home victory.
Off the bench, Solomon led the Bulldogs with his third consecutive double-double, finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Justin Wright added 12 points, while Kameron Taylor chipped in 10 points. DJ Patrick rounded out the scoring leaders with nine points.
Asheville closed non-conference play at 6–8 and will begin Big South Conference action on Wednesday, Dec. 31, as the Bulldogs host High Point in Kimmel Arena at 2 p.m.
