- UNC Asheville returns three players from last season in sophomore forward Deborah Orianegbena, sophomore forward Jazlyn Ware and redshirt sophomore guard Trinity Fields. The Bulldogs welcome two freshmen this season along with nine transfers.
- Orianegbena was seventh in the conference in rebounding as a freshman, averaging 6.2 rebounds per game. Orianegbena is also the team's 2025-26 Kay Yow Servant Leader Award recipient.
- Asheville posted a 4-27 record last season including one win in the Big South Conference.
- The Bulldogs were picked ninth in the Big South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, but did receive one first-place vote.
- Mercer landed senior forward Ariana Bennett on the 2025-26 Preseason All-SoCon team.
- Mercer returns three starters from last year's team, which went 8-22 and 3-11 in Southern Conference play.
- This will be the 10th all-time meeting between Asheville and Mercer, with Mercer leading the all-time series 5-4. The two teams tangled in the season opener last season in Macon, with Mercer winning 75-52 back on Nov. 4, 2024. Mercer has won the last three meetings in the series.
