Bulldogs Sweep Radford for Halloween Victory

10.31.2025 | Women's Volleyball

RADFORD, Va. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team turned in a dominant performance on Friday evening, sweeping Radford 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-23) inside the Dedmon Center to improve to 8-15 overall and 5-5 in Big South Conference play.

The Bulldogs controlled the match from start to finish, hitting .286 as a team while limiting the Highlanders to just .084. Asheville posted 32 kills, seven service aces, and 10 total blocks in the victory. Asheville took advantage of 30 Highlander attack errors while only committing 10.

Albertine van der Goot led the Bulldogs with seven kills and three block assists, while Avery Loeback added six kills and three block assists. Kimberly Williams chipped in five kills and four block assists, and Baylor Herlehy was perfect on the night with five kills on five swings.

At the service line, Addie Brookbank and Ana Djurovic each tallied three aces. Payton Rolfsen and Selina Koç split setting duties with 12 assists apiece, and Michelle Thao anchored the defense with a team-high 14 digs.

Asheville used an early run to take control of the opening set as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 20-9 lead. Radford used a late set push to bring Asheville's lead down four (22-18). A Radford attack error helped Asheville end Radford's push, and back-to-back kills from van der Goot helped secure the opening set victory for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs carried the momentum into the second set, jumping out to a 14-7 lead fueled by blocks and kills by Djurovic and Williams. Asheville closed the set out with Herlehy's first kill of the night.

In the final frame, Asheville led 21-16, but Radford used a late set push to tie the score at 22. With the score tied again at 23, a kill from Herlehy put Asheville at set point, and a block from Brookbank helped seal the win.

The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow as they travel to High Point to take on the Panthers at 2 p.m.
