Volleyball On the Road this Weekend to Face Radford and High Point

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville volleyball team is continuing its road series this weekend to face Radford on Friday (Oct. 31) and High Point on Saturday (Nov. 1).

A LOOK AT THE HIGHLANDERS
Radford is 8-15 overall and 4-5 in league play. The Highlanders went 0-2 last weekend, losing to Winthrop on Friday (Oct. 24) and Gardner-Webb on Saturday (Oct. 25). Both matches were four sets.
The Highlanders are first in the Big South in opponent blocks, only allowing 1.85 per set. They are fifth in blocks per set, averaging 2.02. They are also fifth in service aces per set (1.46) and third in opponent digs (14.39).
Miranda Howard tallied her 1,000th career dig against Gardner-Webb on Saturday (Oct. 25). She added 35 digs on the match, setting a new career high. Howard is fifth in the Big South in digs per set (4.20). Sierra Moore is No. 4 in the Big South in service aces per set (0.35), while Lea Gage is eighth (0.31).
The Bulldogs defeated the Highlanders in three sets earlier this month (Oct. 18), hitting .255 on the match. Asheville recorded 41 kills to Radford's 31, and added nine service aces.

A LOOK AT THE PANTHERS
High Point is 11-9 overall and 7-2 in Big South play. The Panthers went 1-1 last weekend, defeating Gardner-Webb in three sets on Friday (Oct. 24) before falling to Winthrop in four sets on Saturday (Oct. 25).
High Point sits at the top of the Big South standings alongside Winthrop. They are second in hitting percentage (.215) and in blocks per set (2.19). The Panthers are third in kills per set (12.68) and in assists per set (11.77). They lead the conference in opponent digs per set (12.91) and are second in opponent blocks per set (1.85) and opponent service aces per set (1.27).
Freshman Maya Bukovan is first in the Big South in blocks per set (1.21) and No. 2 in hitting percentage (.360). She was named Big South Freshman of the Week on Monday (Oct. 27). This was her third Freshman of the Week honor. Elodie Lalonde is first in kills per set (3.70), while setter Remy Catojo is No. 4 in assists per set (6.92).
The Bulldogs fell to the Panthers in a four-set match on Oct. 17, despite recording 59 kills to High Point's 52.
BULLDOG BITES
The Bulldogs enter this week following a 0-2 weekend as Asheville fell to Presbyterian in five sets on Friday (Oct. 24) and Charleston Southern in three on Saturday (Oct. 25). Payton Rolfsen recorded her 1,000th assist as a Bulldog in Saturday's match, bringing her to 2,344 career assists.
Lydia Pate recorded 11 kills, two aces, and two blocks in Friday's match (Oct. 24) and had a team-high .348 hitting percentage. She added two more blocks on Saturday (Oct. 25). Freshman Addie Brookbank tallied 21 digs, nine kills, and six service aces against Presbyterian and six kills against Charleston Southern.
The Bulldogs lead the Big South in blocks per set (2.28) and are third in service aces per set (1.52). The Bulldogs are second in opponent hitting percentage, holding opponents to an average of .187. Michelle Thao is No. 2 in the league in digs, averaging 4.94 per set. Kylie Cackovic is fifth in kills per set (3.06), Addie Brookbank is No. 5 in service aces per set (0.34), and Ana Djurovic is No. 6 (0.32).
