Men's Soccer Hosts No. 7 High Point Saturday Night

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Soccer hosts No. 7 High Point Saturday night (Oct. 4) at Greenwood Field. This will be Asheville's first time hosting a nationally-ranked team since beating No. 4 Coastal Carolina 3-2 back on Oct. 11, 2015.

The UNC Asheville men's soccer team beat out Radford 2-1 in their second Big South Conference match this past Saturday (Sept. 27). The Bulldogs outshot the Highlanders 13-7 with shots on goal from Rodrigo Mendes, Lennart Granzow, Dylan Kwasnik, and Benian Yao. Granzow and Kwasnik recorded the Bulldog's two goals of the match, assisted by Rinta Takagi and Aysa Hamid, respectively. The victory brought Asheville's Big South record to 1-1-0 and fourth in the conference standings.

The Panthers lead the conference in scoring at 2.22 goals per game, while ranking second in the league in opponent scoring average at 0.89 goals per game.
High Point is also tied for fourth in the league in corner kicks with 43.
Daniel Lugo leads the league in goals with six, while Prosper Adagani is tied for fourth with four goals on the season.
Chris Niblock is tied for fifth in the conference with three assists on the season.
Josh Caron is second in the league in GAA at .889, fifth with 32 saves and also leading the league with an .800 save percentage.
This will be the 33^rd all-time meeting between Asheville and High Point, with High Point leading the all-time series 24-5-3. Asheville is looking for its first win in the series since 2005.
