Bulldogs Lead Field Following Day One of UNCG Collegiate

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team opened the UNCG Collegiate with a strong day one performance as the Bulldogs lead the the 11-team field entering Tuesday's final round.
Caroline Patterson paced Asheville with a third-place performance as she shot an even par (73-71).
Pennie Osterberg followed as she is tied for eighth with rounds of 73-75 (+4). Breanna Hoese closely follows as she is tied for 12th with rounds of 74-75 (+5). Jordyn Arts rounded out the Bulldogs in the top 20 as she is tied in 17th with rounds of 75-76 (+7). Lauren Madson improved by 11 strokes in the second round as she shot an 84-73 and is tied in 44th. Carly Sherman played as an individual, shooting rounds of 83-73 to enter tomorrow's final round tied in 54th.
Patterson leads the field in par 4s as she is 2-under and averaging a 3.90. Hoese is one of three individuals to of shot an eagle on the day.

Asheville and Big South foe Longwood were tied for first following the first 18 holes, but Asheville created distance from the Lancers in the second round as the Bulldogs shot a 294 and Longwood shot a 307. UNCG is close behind Asheville and Georgia State is 10 strokes back from Asheville in third.
