Men's Soccer Faces Furman on Tuesday, Travels to Winthrop on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Soccer hosts Furman at home on Tuesday (Oct. 21) then travels to Rock Hill, SC to face Winthrop in Big South Conference play on Saturday (Oct. 25).

The UNC Asheville men's soccer team tied Presbyterian in a Big South match on Saturday (Oct. 18), earning one point in the league standings. Asheville out-shot Presbyterian 8-7 and recorded eight corners to Presbyterian's two. Lennart Granzow recorded two shots while Brede Fiksdal, Aysa Hamid, Joseph Ling, Rodrigo Mendes and Rinta Takagi each recorded one. Hernandez leads the league in assists with seven, while Bustamante is tied for second with six assists on the season. Ryan Reid is also tied for ninth with three assists on the season.
Hernandez is 13th in the nation in assists and 30th in the nation in goals.
Ivan Horvat is second in the league in GAA at 0.88, fifth in saves with 38 and leading the league with a .792 save percentage.
Horvat is 37th in the nation in save percentage.
This will be the 17th all-time meeting between Asheville and Furman, with Furman leading the all-time series 13-0-3. Furman has won the last four meetings in the series, including a 4-2 win in Asheville back on Oct. 24, 2023.
