Bulldogs Sit Tied for Third After Day One at Terrier Intercollegiate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team opened play at the Terrier Intercollegiate on Monday (Oct. 13), posting a team total of +33 through 36 holes to finish the first day tied for third alongside Elon.
Competing at the Country Club of Spartanburg, the Bulldogs battled in a competitive 14-team field to position themselves near the top of the leaderboard heading into Tuesday's final round. Asheville recorded rounds of +23 and +10 (311-298), showing marked improvement in the afternoon as the team climbed the standings.

East Tennessee State leads the event at +17, followed by Wofford (+23) in second. Appalachian State (+35) and Western Carolina (+44) round out the top six.

PLAYER LEADERBOARD
Caroline Patterson led the way for Asheville, carding rounds of 77 and 72 to sit in a tie for fifth individually after 36 holes. Jordyn Arts followed closely behind in T12 with scores of 77 and 75, while Breanna Hoese also earned a spot in the top 20 with rounds of 79-74 to stand T16. Pennie Osterberg contributed steady play throughout the day with rounds of 78 and 77 to place T22, and Lauren Madson rounded out the lineup in T47 after improving by six strokes in her second round (85–79).
