Bulldogs Grind Out Third Straight Win with 4-3 Decision over Tusculum

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis was able to grind out its third straight win to start the season with a 4-3 decision over Tusculum on Saturday (Jan. 25) at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
Asheville took two out of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, before winning three singles matches to seal the victory.
Cian Ingles and Freddy Murray began doubles play with a 6-0 win at No. 2 over Miles Ray and Anton Krondell, before Griffin Lovern and Tarek Erlewein clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Rens Verhaar and Kai Poelchau. Erlewein began singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Poelchau, before Ingles beat Sarthak Sharma 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 to put Asheville ahead 3-2. Murray would clinch the match for Asheville at No. 1 with a 6-7 (0-5), 7-6 (1-0), 6-2 win.
