Bulldogs Take Down Tennessee Tech for Saturday Win

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis took down Tennessee Tech 5-2 for a Saturday (Feb. 8) win at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
Asheville captured two of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, before winning four out of six singles matches for their fourth straight win.
After a Tennessee Tech win at No. 2 doubles, Griffin Lovern and Tarek Erlewein teamed up for a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Oliver Dao and Lucas Bitzer to tie up doubles play. Trevor Gray and Sai Gandepalli clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-3) win over Arek Kuczynski and Lukas Krause at No. 3 doubles. Murray picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win over Alex Alvarez at No. 1, before a Tennessee Tech win put the Golden Eagles ahead 2-1. Lovern rallied from a 6-0 first set down to win 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6 over Elia Lauper, before Erlewein clinched the match at No. 2 with a 3-6, 7-6 (4-0), 6-2 win over Dao at No. 2. Olle Sonesson Lidholt closed things out with a 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 win over Bitzer at No. 4.
