ASHEVILLE, N.C - Following a productive season opener on August 30, the UNC Asheville cross country team will cross state lines to Greenville, South Carolina, for the Furman Invitational this Saturday (Sept.14).
Saturday marks the first time in over a decade that the women's team will race at Furman. The men's team last competed at Furman in 2015 and earned a third-place finish.
Both the men and women will cover six kilometers over the three-loop course. The women's race will commence at 9:15 a.m., followed by the men's race at 10:00 a.m.
The Bulldogs will race alongside 11 other collegiate teams, including conference foes Charleston Southern and Gardner-Webb. In this year's preseason poll, the UNC Asheville men's team earned a No. 2 ranking behind Charleston Southern, the 2023 Big South Conference Champions. Furman is currently ranked eighth in the Southeast Region on the men's side.
