Bulldogs Blank Wofford 1-0 for Third Straight Shutout

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -Â UNC Asheville Men's Soccer blanked Wofford 1-0 Tuesday night (Sept. 10) at Greenwood Field to record its third consecutive shutout, doing so for the first time since 2014.

Asheville dominated the first half offensively, outshooting Wofford 7-1 while earning seven corner kicks to Wofford's none. Asheville would break the tie for good in the 51st minute, when Seth Hammond scored his second of the season off an assist from Michael Wilkerson. The Bulldogs held strong in the defensive end to remain clean through their third straight game.

Asheville outshot Wofford 10-8 in the contest, including 4-2 in shots on net. Hammond, Aysa Hamid and Edvin Grolimund each had two shots in the contest, while Brendan Herb, Charlie Wood, Viðar Ragnarsson and Louis Beckett each had one shot in the match. Charlie Farrar (3-1-1) stopped two shots in his second consecutive solo clean sheet, repeating his back-to-back feat from a season ago for his second shutout of the season and the 13th of his collegiate career.
