Linge Steenkamp Named Big South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville senior Linge Steenkamp has been named the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Apr. 10).
Asheville beat Radford 4-3 on Saturday (Apr. 6) to extend its winning streak to four and clinched at least a share of the Big South Conference Regular Season Championship.Â
Steenkamp teamed up with Ari Siegel for a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, before clinching the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.Â
This is Steenkamp's fourth career Player of the Week selection, and her third this season. The Bloemfontein, South Africa native is a health and wellness promotion major.
The Bulldogs (13-3, 4-0 Big South Conference) return to action on Friday (Apr. 12) to host Presbyterian for Senior Day and a chance to clinch their second consecutive outright Big South Conference Regular Season Championship. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. from the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
