Bulldogs Blank Longwood at Home on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis blanked Longwood 7-0 at the Asheville Racquet Club on Saturday for a Big South Conference win.
Asheville took two of three matches in doubles play for the doubles point, before sweeping singles play for the shutout.
Angelina Joy Hug and Rosie Dickson began doubles play with a 6-1 win over Oriana Izarra and F. van Eijkelenburg, before Avery Sager and Louise Booker beat Sophia Marchetta and Nina Hederich 6-3 at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point. Linge Steenkamp went on to beat van Eijkelenburg 6-0, 5-7, 6-3 at No. 1, while Booker beat Oriana Izarra 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2. Alexis Nyborg beat Phoebe Mitchell 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3, and Angelina Joy Hug beat Marchetta 7-6, 6-0 at No. 4. Dickson beat Karina Rizvanova 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5, before Sager polished off the shutout with a 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 win over Kashmira Manohar at No. 6.
