Angelina Joy Hug Named Big South Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville freshman Angelina Joy Hug has been named the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Feb. 7).
The Bulldogs went 1-1 as a team last week, with a 4-3 loss to Davidson on Feb. 3 and a 7-0 win over Lenoir-Rhyne on Feb. 4. Hug lost a close doubles match in the contest against Davidson, rallying for a 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles in the match. Against L-R, she and fellow freshman Louise Booker swept their No. 2 doubles match 6-0 to help clinch the doubles point in the match.
This is Hug's first career Freshman of the Week honor. She is a native of Murten, Switzerland.
The Bulldogs (2-2) return to the courts on Saturday (Feb. 10) at Chattanooga. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. from the UTC Tennis Center, with live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
