Angelina Joy Hug Earns Big South Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week Honors

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's tennis player Angelina Joy Hug has earned Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week honors from the Big South Conference, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Feb. 28).

In Asheville's 4-3 win over Kennesaw State back on Saturday (Feb. 24), Hug teamed up with Rosie Dickson for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles to help Asheville secure the doubles point, before winning 6-2, 6-2 in straight sets at No. 4 singles.

This is Hug's second career Freshman of the Week honor. She is a native of Murten, Switzerland.

The Bulldogs (7-2) return to the courts on Monday (Mar. 4) at North Carolina Central in non-conference action. First serve is set for 1:00 from the James W. Younge Tennis Courts in Durham, N.C.
