Bulldogs Battle, Top Kennesaw State 4-3 on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis battled through a tough match to top Kennesaw State 4-3 in non-conference action on Saturday (Feb. 24) at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown. Asheville extends its win streak to six with the win.
Asheville went ahead 1-0 in the match taking the doubles point with two wins, before Kennesaw State captured singles matches at No. 1 and No. 2 to take a 2-1 lead. Asheville would rally from the early deficit to secure the non-conference win.
Angelina Joy Hug and Rosie Dickson beat Sofia Madrid and Izabelle Persson 6-3 at No. 2 doubles, before Louise Booker and Avery Sager beat Sofia Unger and Ivan Gresova 6-3 at No. 3 doubles. Alexis Nyborg beat Madrid 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3, before Hug went on to beat Unger 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4. Sager would clinch the match with a 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 victory at No. 6 after rallying from a 5-0 deficit in the third set.
