Bulldogs Notch Third Straight Shutout with 7-0 Win over Queens (N.C.)

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis blanked Queens (N.C.) 7-0 for its fifth straight win on Sunday (Feb. 18), marking the first time since 2011 that the team has won three straight matches via shutout.
Asheville won two out of three matches in doubles play to secure the doubles point, before going on to sweep singles play for the clean sheet.
Angelina Joy Hug and Rosie Dickson teamed up for a 6-3 win over Lucy Hogan and Jessica Maras at No. 2 doubles, before Avery Sager and Louise Booker beat Audrey Serb and Grace Tomegah 6-0 at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point. Steenkamp went on to beat Katsiaryna Tuliakova 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, before Booker beat Andreea Onitoiu 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. Alexis Nyborg beat Maras 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3, before Hug beat Hogan 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4. Dickson went on to defat Tomegah 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5, before Sager polished off the shutout with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Serb at No. 6. Â Â
