Bulldogs Blank North Greenville to Extend Win Streak to Three

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis blanked North Greenville 7-0 to extend its win streak to three at the Asheville Racquet Club on Saturday (Feb. 17). This marks the first time since last season's 16-match winning streak that Asheville has won back-to-back matches by shutout.
Asheville swept doubles play to secure the doubles point, before not dropping a set in singles play to go on to the shutout victory.
Linge Steenkamp and Ari Siegel beat Vitoria Maximilliano and Grace Katzman 6-0 at No. 1, before Angelina Joy Hug and Rosie Dickson beat Martina Cairus and Abigail Watson 6-2 at No. 2. Avery Sager and Louise Booker closed out doubles play with a 6-1 victory over Kyla Steyn and Naomi Sakakibara at No. 3. Steenkamp went on to beat Maximilliano 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Booker beat Watson 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2. Alexis Nyborg beat Katzman 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3, before Sager blanked Cairus 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4. Valeria Centeno picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5, before Siegel closed things out at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Sakakibara.
