Alexis Nyborg Named Big South Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville freshman Alexis Nyborg has been named the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Feb. 14).
Nyborg went 2-0 last week in singles play to help Asheville move to 4-2 on the season, as the Bulldogs defeated Chattanooga 4-3 on Saturday (Feb. 10) and shut out Tennessee State 7-0 on Sunday (Feb. 11). Nyborg posted a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles in the win over Chattanooga, followed by a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles in the win over Tennessee State.
This is Nyborg's first career Freshman of the Week honor. The Moreland Hills, Ohio native is a double major in computer science and mathematics.
The Bulldogs (4-2) return to the courts on Saturday (Feb. 17) to host North Greenville in non-conference action. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. from the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
