Bulldogs Blank Tennessee State for Second Straight Win

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis blanked Tennessee State 7-0 for the team's second straight win on Sunday (Feb. 11).

Asheville clinched the doubles point with two wins in doubles play, before sweeping singles play for the shutout victory.

Linge Steenkamp and Ari Sigel beat Perri Howard and Warona Mdlulwa 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Louise Booker and Angelina Joy Hug teamed up for a 6-3 win over Francisca Gomez Weis and Louise Ratju at No. 2. Steenkamp was able to grind out a 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles, while Booker beat Jovana Nikolic 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 2. Alexis Nyborg defeated Ratju 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3, while Hug beat Howard 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4. Avery Sager would beat Weis 7-6, 6-2 at No. 5, before Valeria Centeno wrapped things up with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Aroa Arietta Castillo at No. 6.
