ROCK HILL, S.C. - Sophomore Alexis Nyborg advanced to the singles bracket championship match UNC Asheville Women's Tennis completed day two of the Big South Conference Individual Championships on Saturday (Oct. 26).

Nyborg advanced to the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-2 win over teammate Louise Booker, before advancing to the finals with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Claudia Sanchez of Presbyterian.

Asheville picked up two doubles victories in the consolation bracket, as Booker and Ari Siegel beat Karina Rizvanova and Alexandra Magia of Longwood 8-5 and Angelina Joy Hug and Elizabeth Tindera teamed up for an 8-2 win over Julia Abrams and Lexi Smolder of Radford. Tindera rebounded for a 6-2, 6-2 consolation singles win over Rizvanova, while Siegel beat McKenzie Davis of Presbyterian 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 in consolation singles.

Nyborg will take on 3-seed Marina Skegro of Charleston Southern in the championship match tomorrow (Sunday, Oct. 27) at 11:30 a.m.
