ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Basketball opens Big South Conference league play at USC Upstate on Wednesday (Jan. 3) in the latest installment of the Ingles I-26 Rivalry. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. from the G.B. Hodge Center in Spartanburg, S.C.

About the Bulldogs - Asheville enters league play at 6-7 after a 72-34 win over Brevard back on Dec. 29. Asheville currently ranks 19th in the nation in Division I in bench points per game at 29.1. Asheville ranks second in the Big South in scoring at 61.2 points per game, while also leading the league in scoring defense at 54.9 points per game. Asheville is also second in the conference in rebounding at 38.8 rebounds per game, while also leading the conference in opponent rebounding average at 35.5 rebounds per game. Recent Big South Conference Co-Player of the Week McKinley Brooks-Sumpter leads the team and is fifth in the conference in scoring at 13.5 points per game, while LaImani Simmons is also eighth in the league at 12.1 points per game.
