09.10.2023 | Women's Golf

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's golf opens its Fall 2023 slate at William & Mary's Kingsmill Intercollegiate this week (Sept. 11-12).

Tournament Information
Kingsmill Resort River Course | Williamsburg, Va.
Monday, Sept. 11 | 8:30 a.m. shotgun start
Tuesday, Sept. 12 | 9:00 a.m. shotgun start

About the Bulldogs - Asheville returns seven players from last year's team, including Second Team All-Conference selection Madyson Gold. Asheville also welcomes three new faces to the mix for this year. The team set program records a season ago for single-season team scoring average (304.97), team low round (286), and birdies (246).

About the Tournament Field - The tournament features some familiar competition with the likes of Longwood and Radford out of the Big South Conference, as well as some teams that Asheville does not usually see such as Elon, Georgetown, Maryland Eastern Shore, Mount St. Mary's, Rollins, Towson and host William and Mary.

From Head Coach Ross Cash - "I am so excited to get the season started. William and Mary hosts at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Virginia. It is a golf course with a storied history and one that I am very familiar with. It will be a great challenge for the entire field. Golf courses that are very difficult however, always seem to offer us a distinct competitive advantage because of our preparation. I expect that continues to hold true this week and we will very likely have a great tournament."
