Bulldogs Sweep Presbyterian for Conference Win on Wednesday

CLINTON, S.C. - UNC Asheville women's tennis swept Presbyterian 7-0 for a Big South Conference win on Wednesday (Apr. 5). The Bulldogs picked up their fifth road win of the season, going undefeated away from Asheville in the regular season for the first time in the Lise Gregory era.Â
The Bulldogs won two out of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, before sweeping singles play with six wins.
Rosie Dickson and Ami Grace Dougah defeated Lucianna Piedra and Claudia Sanchez 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, before Valeria Centeno and Elizabeth Tindera beat Valentina De Sousa and Varvara Nikolaeva 6-2 at No. 3 doubles. Dougah beat Piedra 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Linge Steenkamp rallied at No. 2 singles for a 6-1, 4-6, 10-6 win over Sanchez. Elizabeth Tindera would beat Nikolaeva 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, while Dickson would beat McKenzie Davis 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Avery Sager would rally for a 3-6, 7-5, 10-7 win over De Sousa, while Centeno beat Dennett 6-1, 6-0.
