Men's Tennis Welcomes College of Charleston for Regular Season Finale on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis welcomes College of Charleston for the regular season finale on Saturday (Apr. 14). It will also be Senior Day for Harry Thursfield. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. from the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.  

About the Bulldogs - Asheville comes into the regular season finale at 8-10 overall and 1-4 in the Big South Conference after a 6-1 loss to Presbyterian on Wednesday (Apr. 12). Asheville comes into the matchup with a combined 24-17 doubles record, as well as a 56-49 combined singles record. Jon Brann Reid and Rafa Serra lead the way in doubles play with eight wins, while Harry Thursfield and Sam Nicholson have five wins. The tandems of Chester Wickwire and Nicholson and Bruno Serra and Thursfield each have four wins in doubles play, while Wickwire and Bruno Serra have two wins and Thursfield and Reid also have one win as a doubles team. Nicholson leads the way with 13 wins in singles play, while Thursfield is second on the team with 10 wins. Freddy Murray has nine wins in singles play, while Bruno Serra has seven wins and Reid has six. Rafa Serra and Wickwire each have four wins in singles play, while Tarek Erlewein also has three wins on the year.

About the Cougars - College of Charleston comes into the matchup at 10-8 overall and 0-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association, after beating The Citadel 5-1 back on Apr. 8. The Cougars have posted a combined 20-27 record in doubles play, along with a combined 54-50 singles record. Robby Krick and Zac Larke lead the way in doubles play with eight wins, while Andre Limon and Brolin Dorsey also have four wins. The tandems of Dorsey and Johnny Wang and Ben Husum and Wang each have two wins in doubles play, while four others doubles pairs each have one win on the season. Limon and Wang each have a team-high 12 singles wins on the season, while Noah Borges has nine wins and Matias Gaedechens also has seven. Larke has six wins in doubles play, while Krick has five, Husum has two and Jake Fraunfelder also has one.

Series History - This will be the fourth all-time meeting between Asheville and College of Charleston, with College of Charleston leading the all-time series 2-1. Asheville won the last matchup between the schools 5-2 back on Mar. 7, 2020.
