Elizabeth Tindera Named Big South Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville freshman Elizabeth Tindera has been named the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Mar. 29).
Tindera helped Asheville extend its current winning streak to 13 straight matches, as the Bulldogs posted a 6-1 win over Gardner-Webb on Tuesday (Mar. 21) and a 7-0 win over Milligan on Wednesday (Mar. 22). In the match against Gardner-Webb, Tindera teamed up with Valeria Centeno for a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles before posting a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. Against Milligan, the doubles duo won 6-0 at No. 2 before Tindera swept her No. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-0.
This is Tindera's third career Freshman of the Week honor. She is a native of Dana, Ind.
The Bulldogs (13-1, 4-0 Big South Conference) return to action next Wednesday (Apr. 5) on the road against Presbyterian. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. from Clinton, S.C., with live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.Â
