Baseball Returns Home to Host Iona

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville baseball team will return home this weekend to host Iona for a three-game series at Greenwood Field. The series, which has been altered due to wet weather in the area, will begin on Friday at 7 p.m., continue at 3 p.m. on Saturday and then finish up at Noon on Sunday.
Series Info – Admission to all three games this weekend will be free courtesy of Ingles. There will be no concessions on Friday night but there will be on Saturday. Fans are permitted to bring an unopened bottle of water to Friday's game.
Last Time Out – The Bulldogs fell on the road at Charlotte on Tuesday in a high-scoring 13-8 contest. With Tuesday's loss, Asheville is now 5-3 on the 2023 season.
Bacot Continues On-Base Streak – With a 2-for-5 day against Charlotte that included a three-run home run, Dylan Bacot has now begun the 2023 campaign with an eight-game on-base streak. Overall, Bacot is hitting .333 with one home run and seven RBI.
Count on Cam to Drive in Runs – A key run-producer for Asheville so far this spring has been Cameron Johnson. Johnson currently ranks second in the Big South with 10 RBI in 2023. Only USC Upstate's Grant Sherrod has driven in more runs this season than Johnson.
