Asheville Sweeps Big South Conference Women's Tennis Weekly Awards

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's tennis has again swept the Big South Conference women's tennis weekly awards, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Feb. 15).
The Bulldogs are in the midst of a seven-match win streak, with wins over UNC Wilmington (6-1, Feb. 11) and Western Carolina (5-2, Feb. 12) last week.
Ami Grace Dougah was named Player of the Week, while Elizabeth Tindera was named Freshman of the Week.
Dougah went 1-1 in doubles play on the week, while also going 2-0 in singles play. Dougah teamed up with Rosie Dickson for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Dougah went on to win at No. 1 singles in the match 6-2, 6-4. Dougah and Dickson then picked up a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles against Western Carolina, while Dougah cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles in the match.
This is Dougah's third Player of the Week honor this season and the sixth of her career. The Lawrenceville, Ga. native is a management major.
Tindera went 1-1 at No. 3 doubles on the week, while also going 2-0 at No. 3 singles. Against UNCW, she teamed up with Valeria Centeno for a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles before winning her No. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-3. Against Western Carolina, she won her No. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-0.
This is Tindera's second career Freshman of the Week honor. She is a native of Dana, Ind. Â Â
