Last Time Out – The Bulldogs picked up a 86-79 victory over Winthrop on Wednesday night at Kimmel Arena. With the win, Asheville improved to 19-7 overall and 11-2 in Big South play.
In search of 20th win –When the Bulldogs take the court on Saturday, they will be looking to notch their 20th win of the season. It would not only mark Asheville's first 20-win season since 2017-18 (21) but it'd also match the program record for the fastest to ever reach this milestone matching the 1982-83 and 2016-17 Bulldog teams.
Newest Member of 1,000-point Club – Drew Pember became the 38th player to score 1,000 points in a Bulldog uniform on Wednesday vs. Winthrop. Pember joins fellow Bulldog Tajion Jones, Winthrop's Cory Hightower, and Longwood's DeShaun Wade as active Big South players that have scored 1,000 points. Furthermore, Pember scored 1,000 points in just 57 games. It marks the 10th-fastest that a player has reached the mark in Big South history.
Down the Stretch They Come – The Bulldogs have just five games remaining in the regular season. In addition to the trip to Presbyterian on Saturday, Asheville will also play at Radford (Feb. 16) and Longwood (Feb. 25) to go with home games against Gardner-Webb (Feb. 18) and Charleston Southern (Feb. 22). Asheville, which currently sits in first place in the Big South standings, is in search of its first regular season Big South championship since 2017-18.
About Presbyterian –Presbyterian enters Saturday's matchup with the Bulldogs with a 5-21 overall record to go with a 1-12 mark in Big South play. PC will look to snap a 12-game losing skid when it takes on Asheville. A player to watch for the Blue Hose is Jalen Forrest, who netted 26 points in the first matchup between Asheville and Presbyterian earlier this season.
Series Rewind vs. Presbyterian – Asheville and Presbyterian have played a total of 39 times over the years with the first meeting occurring in the 1966-67 season. The Bulldogs, who have won 26 of these matchups, have won four straight over the Blue Hose, including an 88-80 overtime win earlier this season at Kimmel Arena.
